On Unfair Treatment Of Bank Contract Staff In Nigeria

BANK JOBS

Written by a FINANCIAL WATCH reader

I will like to use this medium to appreciate the good work of our indefatigable President Mohammed Buhari and the amiable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige.

Kindly look into the way that majority of our so banks in Nigeria are treating their contract staff. Imagine a situation in which a person is been placed on a contract for more than eight years and when a new contract staff is been recruited both the new and the old staff are entitled to same salary.

The issue of promotion is another thing as people in this category are seldom promoted which is not encouraging at all, come to talk of been a contract staff without any promotion for more than eight years, this is so pathetic and dehumanizing in a country where there is rule of law in the land while there is also an high rate of discrimination between the HND and the B.sc holders as the former are not giving the breathing space in the industry.

Kindly help use your good office to help look into this as this unfair treatment is absolutely BAD for our country. Thanks.
