The Initiator Segun Anwoju Life Empowerment Foundation SALEF Mr Segun Anwoju has called Lagos state government to build a primary healthcare center in Iraye Oke of Eredo Local Council Development Area.

Anwoju made the call while speaking with the newsmen at a health awareness programme aimed at identifying various health problems among the people of the community.

According to him SALEF is committed to encourage the people of the community to have a proper understanding of their health and medical history which calls for a well equiped healthcare center for better treatment.

“The Lagos State government under tge administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is doing a very good job in the health sector and other sectors in the state, he has grown more communities more than he met in Epe and that is why we are appealing to him for a new clinic in Iraye Oke in Eredo LCDA”

“We believe we can not force this on Him because Epe Local government has its own hospital but its going to be a long term programme for the foundation to build a hospital for people to do proper follow up on the various diagnosis we have today”.

He added that “the maiden edition of the awareness programme revealed that peoples health needs to be properly diagnosed for further treatment and the foundation promise to do more of the programme, more reasons why we are appealing to the government of the day to build a well equipped healthcare facility for the community”.

Also speaking at the event, Doctor Iduniyi Anwoju said that people needs to know more about their health and medical history by going through series of test because not everybody that is walking are healthy.

“In health ignorance is not an excuse and if there is no proper check ups one may not know that something is wrong and you can not compare this place with other part of the state where people will quickly get a good place for check up, I think that was the major issue that brought about thus awareness in a place like this”

“And we believe that government can do more by building a healthcare facility in the community because of the fact that after identifying the problems here the people need to do follow up on their health situations and this cab only be achieved in a good hospital”. He said.

However, one of the benefactors Mrs Titilayo Adekoya maintained that the health awareness programme is an eye opener in the community in a long time.

She said that ” Most of the times we don’t go to the hospital because of the distance and this has put a sudden end to many life in the community which we know that if there is health center in people will use it instead of herbal medicine for self medication”.
