Reactions trail EFCC’s arrest threat on Fayose – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have come under intense criticism over a recent tweet shortly after Governor Ayodele Fayose’s candidate in the just concluded Ekiti guber polls lost the election.

The antigraft agency has warned of an imminent arrest of the Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose via a Twitter post it released on Sunday, over a failed poultry project.

Fayose’s administration had been accused of funds misappropriation over a poultry project, much earlier before his second coming as Ekiti State governor, but he has been shielded from arrest with the constitutional immunity.

However, some Nigerians on tweeter have accused the EFCC of being partisan and unprofessional in the manner in which the impending probe was announced on social media.

A twitter user @KadariaAhmed said; “Totally uncalled for, every time you behave in a partisan manner your undermine your credibility at a time when we desperetly need proper institutions. You can do your job without this…Shame on you”.

Some other user have a different opinion on the matter just as @shogsyboy tweeted; “The guy has a pending case which was suspended cause of immunity. We are now informed the case will resume. What is unprofessional about the statement. Go and sit down please”

  1. Still on Ayo Fayose. How are we sure the tweet is from EFCC? In this electronic age and time where people use the social media anyhow? Are we sure the tweet is genuinely from EFCC? C’mom guys do not be taken for a ride and believe anything on the internet. I’m suspicious that the tweet did not emenate from the EFCC. They do not tweet like that as an Institution. Do not forget that some criminals can set up a parallel tweet and fool people!!! Pls do not be fooled!!!
