Kano governorship: Fake election results flood social media

Kano governorship: Fake election results flood social media – There is an ongoing deliberate posting of fake elections results in the governorship polls being currently collated in Kano State, Financial Watch can report.

Our reporters monitoring the 2019 governorship election in Kano state have observed an unusual posting of fake results of various polling units, wards and local government areas by “social media collation officers” apparently to serve some specific interests.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have reacted and cautioned the public to be wary of the activities of fake news peddlers, they insisted INEC is the only body authorized to announce and publish election results.

Yesterday elections held in 26 other states across the country to determine the governorship and state houses of assembly members that will oversee the affairs of the states for the next four years.
