Gtbank food and drink fair bubbles with fresh farm products, innovations – Fresh farm products of unimaginable proportion, too enticing to ignore are some of the products farmers are offering to customers at the 4th Gtbank Food and Drink Festival which kicked off on Sunday at Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Among the fresh products are capsicum annum, Cayenne Pepper, Poblano Pepper and others, okra, potatoes, yam floor of various flavour well packaged for international export. There are Irish potatoes, cabbage and other fresh vegitables. The list also include fishes of various variety, fresh and dried and some bush meat.
They are well placed outside directly adjacent entrance to the fair. Just by the side are suya spots, designated areas for grilled meat and fish prepared fresh just the way you like it to go with some cold drinks. On the green artificial turf are sitting area for relaxation, most especially those who visit with kids. As you stand by the side to observe, you are entralled as hundreds of visitors breeze in and out making purchases to the delight of the traders who seemed to have been groomed with the best sales etiquette.
Inside the main hall, the situation wasn’t different but the very cool atmospher suitable for shopping and relaxation. But there is more, most of the items on exhibition are products of young lads who have brought innovation into their craft.
Some of the items sale are coconut crisps, well spiced backed flour called ‘chinchin’ in local parlance, fruit juice, well spiced for that unique taste and variety of wine strictly for wine connoisseurs. There are other products which are quite unique to the African setting but available at the Gtbank Food and Drink Fair.
The prices come quite cheap, as low as N500. You could make purchases with your ATM card via POS machine or USSD codes which are supplied instantly on demand. Far right into the coozy hall is the long stretch reserved for sales of pastries, local and international cuisine, but demarcated with spacious sitting area where you could have your meals with loved ones.
Each day is spiced up with at least two master classes. Two master classes are in store for Tuesday, featuring Kinorah Awini and Angus Kennedy. Kinori Awini will discuss creating evergreen content for food, while Angus Kennedy will speak on Living the dream with chocolate.
The first master class comes up in the evening from 5pm to 6pm while the second class comes up from 6.15 pm to 7: 17 pm. Six classes with different experts are lined up for Wednesday, May 1, which is the last day of the fair. The first class comes up from 12noon to 1pm, while the last session will take place from 7 pm to 8 pm. – Starconnect.
