BREAKING: Gunmen kill Revenue collector in Warri, Delta State – Suspected assassins have shot and killed a revenue collector, identified simply as Mr. London at the Warri Main Garage, Warri South council area of Delta state.
Financial Watch gathered the incident it was gathered happened at about 5pm on Sunday.
It was gathered the deceased was just recovering from bullet injuries sustained from an attack by unknown gunmen earlier this year.
The late London was a member of the tax force/revenue collector in the popular Warri Garage.
Sources around the scene of the attack said the suspects were four in number and had driven a red SUV.
“Gunmen men just shot Mr London in Garage but we don’t know if he will make it.
“He was attacked earlier this year by unknown gunmen and he just recovered from it.
“Again, gunmen numbering four came with a red jeep. They came on information. One of them called him. On getting close to them, he was shot in close range.
“After he fell down they still shot him again before they ran away. People around rushed him to a hospital,” a source disclosed.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
She said: “Yes it is true. A man was shot dead this evening in Warri Garage.
“The man, they said, was complaining about his body. He was going to a chemist shop to buy drugs, only for them to see a red jeep close to him.
“He was shot at close range severally. his body is now at the morgue.”
